This is also your chance to carpool with your fellow students to keep costs low. Bus stations on the hand, are heavily dependent on your arrival time to the airport. Volvo buses (best condition) from Delhi to Rishikesh stop running around 9 PM at night. If you arrive in the evening, you will have to get a hotel for the night and then make your way to Delhi Interstate Bus Terminus (ISBT) in the morning.
Another option for transportation is to get back on a plane and fly to Dehradun airport (Jolly Grant). It can cost you about 50 to 70 USD, including taxi fare from the airport to Laxman Jhula.
