Get a front row view of Sri Lanka's wildlife, with surfing trips to the best spots on the shore with your own guide and instruction. Located in the heart of the jungle, facing a wild lagoon, and only ten minutes walk to the beach and village centre this is your ultimate getaway. 


Wild at heart but still private and secure you’ll share this uber cool spot with elephants, monkeys and birds as well as friendly locals and like-minded travelers. With some of the most experience surf teachers and guides discover the world of surfing.


The camp offers surf lessons in variety of beautiful surf spots while advanced surfers can be guided to all of these spots through a private guide. With a long season running from late March to October. 


Surf clean breaks in the morning, harness the wind in the afternoon and try out windsurfing or kite surfing. When the winds die down you can swing out again on your surfboard and cruise long breaks till the sun goes down.


This package is inclusive of 14 nights accommodation, 10 surf lessons with surfboards, transportation to and from surf spots and back. Each 2 hour lesson includes both theoretical instruction and practice. This package also includes your breakfast meals.

The cafe serves fresh and healthy breakfast and lunch from 07:00- 16:00, as well as an array of snacks and beverages at any time for you. Aside from being open early morning in time for the surfers, yogis and travelers who would like a hot drink and snack box to take away, they can also hold special BBQ seafood nights by request!

Enjoy the staples of Sri Lanka's flavourful cuisine like rotti kottus, string hoppers and kiri hodi. Stronger palates will appreciate the kathurumurunga, a salad with onion, garlic, chili and turmeric. Desert is the thick buffalo curd, served with treacle from the Palmyra tree. Everything here aims to satiate your hungry tummy and nourish your body with freshly prepared healthy meals.

Eastern Province, Sri Lanka

Lovely Arugam Bay, a moon-shaped curl of soft sand, is home to a famed point break that many regard as the best surf spot in the country. It's a tiny place, with a population of a few hundred, and everything is dotted along a single road which parallels the coast.


If you’re not a surfer, there are plenty of other draws: beachfront guesthouses, oceanside restaurants and a mellow, swing-another-day-in-a-hammock kind of vibe that’s totally removed from the brash west-coast beach resorts. Arugam Bay also makes a great base for several adventures in the surrounding hinterland. During the low season (November to April) things get extremely quiet and many places close altogether, but it can also be a serene time to visit, with few tourists and verdant landscapes to admire.


Get to Sri Lanka is by air, arriving at Bandaranaika Airport which is a short distance north of Colombo.
Sri Lanka Airlines, the national airline, operates daily direct flights from London, and regular flights from a number of other European, Middle and Far Eastern Cities. There is a direct bus from Colombo to Pottuvil which is the cheapest way to get from Colombo to Arugam Bay.

The Elephant Road Resort is located in the quiet part of the jungle. Facing the wild lagoon, surrounded only by nature, and a 10 minute walk to the beach and the village center, this place allows you to truly escape and succumb to the peacefulness of nature. Private and secure, your neighbors are elephants, peacocks, monkeys, buffalos and sea eagles.


With four brand new luxury suites right in the jungle and a café serving fresh breakfast and lunch the resort has everything you need for your far off adventure but still relax in luxurious surroundings. Each suite is fitted with ceiling fans and air conditioning, ensuite bathrooms, large open plan living areas, hammock, couch, and hanging beds for complete comfort and relaxation. On the upper level you will find two double beds, shower room and toilet, yoga balcony, hammock and couch, with high ceilings and lots of light flooding in throughout the day.


The common way of transport in and out of the village is the three wheel " tuk tuk ". the hotel provides an attached all day and night local drivers and guides whom familiar with all the area scenery spots, wild life , surf spots and shopping. Airport transfer arrangements can be done with the resort's driver.
