This Ashtanga Yoga Course runs over 2 weeks, in conjunction with the first 2 weeks of the 200 hour YTTC in Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga Yoga. This course allows students to return for a week to complete the 200 hour yoga teacher training course in Vinyasa Flow and Ashtanga Yoga.

During these intensive two weeks you will learn the Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series and know how to develop a personal practice, know about the lineage of Vinyasa Flow and how it has evolved from the traditional practice of Ashtanga Yoga, attend technical workshop and get deeper access into some of the key postures of Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series. You will also develop a practice of Breath work and Meditation and discuss the modern-day concepts of the soul and consciousness.

The price of the package includes your tuition, accommodation, WIFI, tree meals daily, herbal teas and drinking water available all day.

Patnem Beach is beautifully ensconced closer to the southern tip of Goa. Situated close to the more popular Palolem and Agonda beach, it is rated as one of the quietest beaches in entire Goa. Though the waters here are not as calm and protected as you would find in Palolem, it is smaller, less crowded and a significantly friendlier beach.


A fairly quiet beach, it has its share of beach life and activity quotient. Visitors can easily spot the relaxed beach snacks full of yummy local and international cuisine, lively surf, opportunities for swimming enthusiast and some small beach activities.


Goa is connected to the most part of the world via direct flights. The airport is located at Dabolim and there are 3 major railway stations with trains plying to and from every corner of India.


The Patnem beach is about 70-80 km from the airport and 36 kms from the nearest major Railway Station, Madgaon. It is quite conveniently connected via taxis and bus routes from most part of Goa as well.

Food

All the food is sourced locally, so the menu will consist of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Local produce is organically grown and bought on a daily basis. Daily breakfasts, lunches, dinners and refreshments throughout the day are included in your training. All meals are served buffet style with many options for you to choose from. 

Meals will be prepared in an onsite health-based Indian kitchen with wonderful cooks who continue to delight the guest with their multi-cultural specialties. 

Healthy, nutritious menu is designed following the natural rules of Ayurveda.​Ayurveda is the original ancient system of medicine which is based on the idea of Balance in the body, mind, and Spirit. Ayurveda has its main purpose for optimal living, manifesting our full potential of health and energy on all levels. Ayurveda goes hand in hand with Yoga, both reflect the Vedic idea that we must live according to our true nature. According to Ayurveda we all possess different individual constitutional types. The requirements of one type in terms of food.

The kitchen is at your service and ready to accommodate all your dietary requirements, whatever they may be. If you miss a meal, cooks will always rustle something up for you. There is never a need to be hungry.

Meet The Facilitators

 

Syllabus

HOURS + TOPICS

Your main practice of the day will alternate between Ashtanga Yoga and Vinyasa Flow. Your Lead Teacher will guide you through the class and the Teacher Assistants will be there to ensure correct alignment, giving gentle adjustments as required.

This class will take place after the morning practice of Ashtanga Yoga. It will include an introduction to meditation, outlining the benefits to increase wellbeing. Many different techniques will be covered, using the breath as the gateway to successful meditation.

This workshop will allow you to modify each of the postures of Ashtanga Yoga to develop your personal practice. It will provide an excellent opportunity to explore the anatomy and alignment of key postures that feature as part of populist Vinyasa Flow. This workshop will provide the fundamentals of Ashtanga Yoga.

These afternoon workshops will give a technical focus to key postures and provide a fun and playful environment to explore. Workshops will include Headstand, Chaturanga, Transitions, Back bending and popular Partner Yoga.

During these classes, you will be encouraged to discuss a range of philosophical topics. Topics will include the interpretation of the soul and consciousness, looking at their relevance to yoga, in particular to Ashtanga Yoga.

There will be several evening activities for you to attend. This will include Candlelight Meditation, Bedtime Yin Yoga, Ecstatic Dance, Drama Workshops and Thai Massage.

The 100 hour Yoga TTC Goa is fully registered with Yoga Alliance.

Time Off

The schedule can be changed according to the group and weather. The venue is situated right on Patnem Beach, metres away from the sea. Students are encouraged to appreciate some quiet beach time after an intense morning practice. And, it is never too far to go for a lunchtime beach nap or a dip in the sea between classes for a much needed cooling down.

The 4-share cottages are situated in the Sattva campus and are a great option for students that are on a low budget but are still looking to experience a high-quality teacher training. All dormitories come with two double-sized bunk beds and comfortable mattresses. Space to lock your valuables, mosquito nets and a fan as well as (shared) western style bathrooms make up some of the indoor features. Tucked away in between the lush greenery of the campus, the newly constructed tree house is a beautiful spot to find some quiet and unwind. It’s the perfect place to catch up on some homework and your readings or simply relax and enjoy your down time.

Choose to fall asleep nestled amongst the lush greenery of cashew, coconut and mango trees. A short 50m walk away from the Moksha campus and lovely Patnem beach, this relaxing garden accommodation offers the same comfort as the beachfront and ocean cottages. With western style toilet and shower facilities as well as double beds with a mosquito net and fan, lockable drawers, a private porch with a hammock and swinging chair you can make yourself feel right at home.

Yoga Village is a 5000-square-meter area, having access to both the beach and the roadside. It  comprises of 4 campuses: Moksha, meaning liberation or release which is the ocean view campus. Sattva, meaning purity or reality which is the garden campus. Shakti means Energy, ability, strength, effort, power, capability. Samadhi means a state of intense concentration achieved through meditation. These are located next to each other with Moksha situated right on the beach and Sattva directly behind it.

Yoga Village is decorated with glimmering lights and vibrantly coloured muslin. Swinging beds await your enjoyment along with many other cosy places to take chai, study, chat, sunbathe - the choice is yours. Many of these places are fitted with fans to keep you cool during the midday heat.


The village has an eco friendly solar power supply, providing hot water and electricity throughout the day. Facilities also include washing machines for your laundry, beach towels, cleaning products for you to maintain your room and housekeeping services.

Cottages are available on a single/double or sharing basis and dormitories are on a 4 person sharing basis.
