This Training is immersed in the ancient spiritual, philosophical and meditative traditions of Yoga, while also maintaining a firm ground in modern alignment, sequencing, and approaches to practice.

This 18-day training offers students the lived experience of the teachings.

This training progresses over 18 days by a map of the chakras, starting at the root and ending with the crown.

During the root segment, you will ground your intentions for teaching/practice, and learn the vast history of Yoga from the Vedas through the Upanishads, Buddhism, Yoga Sutras, Bhakti traditions, Tantric Lineages and contemporary Yoga Schools.

In the sacral chakra you will uncover the countless layers of the subtle body, learn the principles of Ayurveda, gain an overview of classical Tantra, and practice Yoga Nidra.

As you progress through the navel chakra you will explore Yoga's connection with power, fire, and introduce Lakshmi practice & the business of Yoga.

In addition to practice and study, you will participate in meditation, ceremony, council, and explore what these practices and teachings mean for ourselves as individuals, and for the community as a whole.

Each of the 18 days will also include a thorough overview in the anatomy/physiology of Yoga-Asana (postures), a comprehensive outlook on teaching methodology, an intensive dissection of major and minor poses, workshops on adjustments/alignment, and plenty of time for practice teaching.

For those looking to teach, this training will provide a vast, comprehensive tool-kit for teaching physical postures, breathing techniques, alignment, adjustments, as well as pranayama, mantra, meditation, and more.

For students looking to deepen their understanding, this will be a dynamic expansion of both knowledge and practice. A sincere exploration of what it means to truly practice YOGA.

The teacher training package includes lodging, course manual, certification, and breakfast + dinner each day of the course.

HOURS + TOPICS

The 200-hour training will include a thorough overview in the anatomy/physiology of Yoga-Asana (postures), a comprehensive outlook on teaching methodology, an intensive dissection of every major and minor pose, workshops on adjustments/alignment, and plenty of time for practice teaching.

During the root segment, students will ground their intentions for teaching/practice, and learn the vast history of Yoga from the Vedas through the Upanishads, Buddhism, Yoga Sutras, Bhakti traditions, Tantric Lineages and contemporary Yoga Schools.

In the heart you encounter the devotional path of Bhakti (devotional) Yoga, as well as ceremony, prayer and healing. You will connect in nature, and receive teachings on the heart of our practice. Share in men's and women's circles as a step in our process of uniting energies, where we also honor identifying with a group other than your assigned-at-birth gender, and exploring the group you feel called to!

Moving upwards into the throat chakra students will learn about Kashmir Shaivism and the Sanskrit language, pronunciation, principles of chanting, and a wealth of mantra & deity practices.

Progressing to the third eye the training becomes increasingly more subtle, as we encounter an array of Yogic meditations, explore Yogic Buddhism, and turn inward in silence.

Culminating in the crown, trainees will receive kundalini awakening practices, learn Shakti mantra, Yogic ritual, and receive an initiation into the practice.

Experience a little haven in the heart of Playa Guiones. World-renowned architect, Benjamin Garcia Saxe, designed these beautiful unique homes and the fitness studio. You can walk to surf, to all the restaurants and the shops. Each villa has its own private saltwater pool so you can enjoy the privacy of your own home or come socialize with others at the playground or at the fitness studio. You really don't have to go far to enjoy everything Nosara has to offer.

Nalu means wave in Hawaiian and to go with the flow. In Costa Rica, they have a similar saying Pura Vida that you will come to hear daily from all the locals. Essentially, Pura Vida means eternal optimism and just go with the flow.

Nail is perfect as a luxury surfers retreat or for the family that just wants to relax and stay right near the surf, sunsets, and pure serenity of Playa Guiones. As you come in from surf or play at the beach, you can rinse off at the outdoor shower next to your own private saltwater pool. And the kitchens are ready with Ninja blenders to make smoothies with fresh coconut water and local fruits that you can pick up at the nearby markets.

The Villas come with bed linens, bath and beach towels. Spa bathrooms are set up so you can enjoy an indoor or outdoor shower to really get that sand out. Plenty of decks outside the kitchen and living room area, as well as every bedroom to enjoy your time outside lounging with your favorite book.

Mingle with howler monkeys and iguanas as you walk through our lush gardens. Enjoy a complimentary class at our fitness studio whether you need to kick something or zen out. And play at the playground with your kids as it was designed to challenge the kid in all of us!

The closest airport is Liberia AIrport (LIR), which is about a 2.5-3 hour drive from Nalu. You can rent a car or they can help you book a shuttle. You can now fly from Liberia Airport to Nosara which takes just 15 minutes!

You can also fly into San Jose (SJO) and from there, you can rent a car or hop on a shuttle. San Jose is about a 5 hour drive. You can get a local flight from San Jose to Nosara that only takes 30 minutes and is a beautiful scenic flight.
