Yoga philosophy in Sanskrit is called yoga darshan which means guiding students through the philosophy of life with the help of ancient yoga texts to the aim of yoga. The course imparts teachings of the mystic sage Patanjali’s ‘Patanjali yoga sutras’ which teaches students to learn how to live an appropriate life.

Yoga is a journey toward self-awareness. On this journey relaxation skills help us gather the disparate energy of the body and the mind and focus them internally. Then mental distraction intrude with less intensity and a sense of inner flexibility and calmness develops. Relaxation also prepares the personality for a still more interior practice. Through meditation we can safely enter the quiet and inward place of the mind & heart.

The prana creates an aura around the body. It flows through thousands of subtle energy channels called ‘nadis’ and energy centers called ‘chakras’. The quantity and quality of prana and the way it flows through the nadis and chakras determines one’s state of mind. If the prana level is high and its flow is continuous, smooth and steady, the mind remains calm, positive and enthusiastic.

Ayurveda is the ancient knowledge that indicates the very measure of life, advising on the appropriate and inappropriate, happy and sorrowful conditions of living, and recommending practices auspicious for longevity.

Learn the full Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga that so you can maintain a self practice and also teach this Primary Series to your own students in a safe and confident way.

Learn all the poses related to Vinyasa Yoga and how to link these poses with special routines and following the flow of the breath to link the poses.

Traditionally, bandhas were classified as part of mudras, and were handed down by word of mouth from guru to disciple. The hatha yoga pradipika deals with bandhas and mudras together and the ancient tantric texts also make no distinction between the two.

The Sanskrit word ‘mudra’ is translated as ‘gesture’ or ‘attitude’. Mudra can be described as psychic, emotional, devotional and aesthetic gestures or attitudes. Yogis have experienced mudras as attitude of energy flow, intended to link individual pranic force with the universal or cosmic force.

Beneath the ups and downs of everyday life there is a profound state of balance. By resting in that state we can create a resilient and stable mind even in the face of stress.  Through relaxation, we restore a sense of inner harmony.

Shat means ‘six’ and karma means ‘action’ the shatkarma consist of six groups of purification practices. The aim of hatha yoga and therefore of the shatkarma is to create harmony between the two major pranic flows, ida and pingala thereby attaining physical and mental purification and balance.

Yoga therapy is the use of the techniques of Yoga to create, stimulate, and maintain an optimum state of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health. Yoga therapy consists of the application of yogic principles, methods, and techniques to specific human ailments.

Teaching method comprises of the principles and methods used by teachers to enable student learning. These strategies are determined partly on subject matter to be taught and partly by the nature of the learner. It is the primary role of teachers to pass knowledge and information onto their students.
