This teacher training will emphasize learning how to safely lead a successful, intelligent, and inspiring vinyasa class. 

The yoga is essentially vinyasa yoga with a strong focus on meditation and pranayama. Energetic awareness such as bandha work, Kundalini meditations, and yoga philosophy will also be covered. 

Three weeks of powerful practice and study, deepening your connection to yoga and transforming your lives. 

You’ll build a strong foundation in breathwork, energy locks, mantra, and yoga philosophy to support you on this journey.

This teacher training not only equips you with the skills you need to be a wonderful and confident teacher, it also ensures you will be diving deeply into your own practice and your own self, perhaps deeper than you’ve ever gone before. 

For this ritual to work, it is important that you use your time and energy wisely. 

During the breaks and days off, you will be encouraged to study, practice teach, and spend time in silence to help you digest the teachings you are exploring. 

The cost of this yoga teacher training includes your accommodation, all classes needed for your teaching certificate, 3 organic meals per day, use of the pool, circus performance and dance party at the end of your training.

Food

All meals will be catered to you throughout the training and you can expect delicious, healthy, highly nourishing cuisine. The core of the diet is lots of raw food, plenty of protein and healthy fats, minimal processing, lots of fruit, veggies especially greens, whole grains, minimal dairy and meat, and no junk food! They also use no white sugar and very little wheat, to suit people with sensitivities. 

The venue is dedicated to using organic produce whenever possible, and are constantly seeking out new sources of organic foods in Costa Rica. Some are grown locally and some are brought from other parts of Costa Rica, especially the higher altitudes where foods will grow organically that can’t survive the beach climate.

Syllabus

HOURS + TOPICS

Deepen your practice and knowledge of each asana and how to teach these traditional asanas to various levels of students in a safe and motivating way. Experience your own practice deepen as you become more aligned with each pose and its benefits, finding the perfect modifications of the pose to suit you.

Sink into various and different meditation techniques as well as powerful breath work and traditional cleansing techniques. These are all aimed to cleanse and purify the mind and body to bring about health and harmony. 

Study the physical anatomy of the human body and the mechanics of the body in order to better understand and appreciate the science of yoga and its effects and benefits. Learn how to practice and teach safely in accordance with the limitations of the body. 

Understanding the history of yoga brings a great deal of depth and passion to your practice and teaching. Learn the deeper elements of yoga from classic texts and how to bring these lessons into daily life and class.  

As you move through the course much time will be devoted to learning exactly how to teach, how to structure a class, how to find your inner voice and how to offer sequencing and modifications to suit a range of class needs. 

You will learn these three different elements which allows for freedom of movement, finding the optimum potential energy of mind and body as well as help you become aware of the various levels you have in your body.

In this part of the course you will learn first of all the basic elements of massage technique. You will review and work with techniques that will enable you to perform a 1½ hour full body massage, which includes muscle massage, yoga features, acupressure, joint manipulation, relaxation exercises and work with energy pathways. In other words, you will be given tools to work with the body, both as a complete 90 minutes of body massage and also with specific problems. As you are becoming yoga teachers you will bring to attention how to use these techniques when teaching yoga classes both for the corrections of students or as therapeutic tools in one-to-one sessions.

Certification

You are required to pass all the assignments and to attend to all of the classes of the whole training. There are also materials and books that you have to study all throughout the YTT. Upon completion of the course students will receive a 200-hour Yoga Alliance approved yoga teachers certificate. This enables students to teach globally.

Anamaya Resort is truly an exotic retreat and wellness resort, built on a cliff edge and overlooking the most incredible ocean views. The resort is a few steps away from epic waterfalls surrounded by rainforests and located in one of the world’s most beautiful tropical beach towns.

“Anamaya” is Sanskrit for “good health” and that is their focus. The easiest way to get to Anamaya is from Tambor airport. You can take a short 20-minute fight from San Jose International Airport to Tambor and then a 30-minute ride to reach the retreat. The other option is to take the shuttle from San Jose. Approximate travel time is 5.5 hours including a ferry ride into Puntarenas. While it might take a bit more time to reach Anamaya than other locations, this stunning region of the Nicoya Peninsula is a tropical paradise worth the journey.
