HOURS + TOPICS

For four weeks, you will learn how to correctly practice and align not only your own poses, but those of your students. By using both lecture and a hands-on approach, you can take your students down the right and injury-free path to mastery.

“Prana” is Breath or vital energy in the body. On subtle levels, Prana represents the Pranic energy responsible for life or life force, and “Ayama” means control. Putting those two together, you get Pranayama or “Control of Breath”. One can control the rhythms of Pranic energy with Pranayama and achieve healthy relationship between body and brain.

On the 1st and 2nd week, you will cover techniques including Kapalabhati, Bastrika, Ujjai, Nadi shodana, Surya bhedana, Chendra bedana, Anuloma-Viloma, Shithali, Shitkari and Bramari. On the 3rd and 4th week, you will tackle advance variations and Bandas and Mudra will be added. On the 4th week, you will lead the class and have a practical exam evaluated by Mystic School faculties.

You will cover some of the basics of muscular skeletal anatomy and you will also be looking closely at joint mechanics, where movement comes from, the nature of body tissues and how they are affected through yoga. Sessions will include multimedia presentations, hands on anatomy, case studies of injuries and why difficulties with certain movements can occur.

Many meditative techniques require one to sit still and silent, but for most of us accumulated stress in our body-mind makes that difficult. Before we can hope to access our inner powerhouse of consciousness, we need to let go of our tensions. Active Meditations have been scientifically designed by Osho for the contemporary man. The activity itself creates the situation in which passivity happens.

Here, you will learn the techniques of meditation including intoning the sounds, 3rd eye, Nadabrahma, Osho Kundalini, Chakra sounds, Chakra breathing, Gourishankara, relaxing body & mind, conscious sleeping and dreaming, Vipasana and Zazen.

On Saturdays, guest lecturers will be invited to talk on Ayurvedic Yogic diet, Ethics, Cultural and traditional inheritance of Yogic schools of India. Other topics include how to set up studio to teach Yoga and Business of Yoga.

Certification

Upon completion of this course, you will receive a 200-hour Yoga Alliance USA & UK certificate.
