The center is located in the resort town of Siem Reap, in northwestern Cambodia. The town is the gateway to the ruins of Angkor, the seat of the Khmer kingdom from the 9th to 15th centuries. Angkor's vast complex of intricate stone buildings includes preserved Angkor Wat, the main temple, which is pictured on Cambodia's flag. The center is along the Siem Reap river, a 15-minute walk away from the city center, shopping malls, and night markets.
To visit the center, fly to the Siem Reap International Airport, the second largest airport in Cambodia. There are separate terminals for international and domestic flights. From there, you can either ride a cab, rent a car, or ride the bus. Major bus companies include Phnom Penh Sorya Transport, Capitol Tours, Giant Ibis and GST Express. Mekong Express comes highly recommended for its safety record and because the staff checks your ticket before giving you your luggage back to avoid theft.
