This 200-hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training course is for practitioners who want to challenge themselves, evolve their practice of learning, advance their knowledge of yoga and immerse deeper into the study of the ancient Science of Ashtanga Yoga. The rigorous program includes the practice of Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary and Intermediate series, Pranayama, Meditation, Kriyas, Alignment and Adjustment workshops. These practices will enliven your body, mind, and spirit.

Ashtanga comes from the combination of two Sanskrit words: Ashta meaning Eight and Anga which means limbs. It has been developed as one of the Yogic Philosophies by the Yoga Gurus. The eight branches start with the observation of basic lifestyles, principles, and ethics that are called as Niyamas or Yamas. These are then followed by the Asanas, Poses and Body posture to make your body flexible and also prepare for the next level. After that, the Pranayama breathing techniques are learned to control the mind and body. Later on, Prathayahanra, the practice of withdrawing the senses to study the inner world and their link to the external world are practiced. The next to this is Dharana meaning concentration to settle the mind for meditation and then preparing the final stage, the Samadhi as the bliss.

This is a complete Ashtanga Yoga instructor training in the Ashtanga Primary series. The course has been designed in accordance with the 200-hour requirements for registration with the Yoga Alliance.   Rishikesh, India

Tapovan area is full of meadows, streams and flowering plants and the meadows are considered as one of the best high altitude meadows in India. The exquisite setting on the fast-flowing Ganges, surrounded by forested hills, is conducive for meditation and mind expansion. In the evening, an almost supernatural breeze blows down the valley, setting temple bells ringing as sadhus, pilgrims and tourists prepare for the nightly ganga aarti - a fire offering or ritual performed on the Ganges.

Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi (DEL) is the international airport that is closest to the schools in Rishikesh and Dharamsala. From there, you have several options to get to Rishikesh. It is recommend to either take an additional flight from New Delhi to Dehra Dun (DED) or arrange for a taxi or bus for the final part of your journey.
