Syllabus

HOURS + TOPICS

Yogic postures comprise four hours of the daily schedule. You will be introduced to the various asanas in a systematic manner with progressively increasing level of difficulty. Once the basics are mastered, asana flows, adjustments and subtle aspects of breath & awareness will be brought into focus.

These yogic cleansing practices will be integrated into your daily morning schedule and will work in conjunction with the asana practices.

You will learn anatomy and physiology relevant to yoga in order to strengthen the classroom explanations, cues, and corrections of asanas.

This class will focus on introducing you to basic philosophy, concepts and history of yoga. It will cover the various traditional philosophies and viewpoints, insights from modern research and ways in which the essence of this holistic life-view can be integrated into a modern lifestyle.

You will learn techniques to work with vital energy centers in the body with a goal of becoming proficient enough to teach these skills to your students.

Certification

This 200-hour residential hatha yoga teacher training program is registered with Yoga Alliance, USA. After completion of the course, one can register with Yoga Alliance as a RYT 200 yoga teacher that will allow you to teach globally. Completion of 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Course also gives you the designation of RYT-200 and also the eligibility to enroll in 300 hour Yoga Teacher Training Course in combination both of these courses are called 500 hour Yoga Teacher Training Course.

An ideal budget accommodation in Rishikesh, Krishna Cottage is located in the Swarg ashram area and is less than 10 minutes walking distance from river beach. There are many attractions which surround the area such as Parmath Niketan Ashram, Beatles Ashram, and the Chotiwala Restaurant. 


The Krishna Cottage offers free wireless internet connectivity and features 37 standard double rooms equipped with basic necessities such as an attached bath, running hot and cold water, multi-cuisine restaurant & cafeteria, internet cafe, travel desk, library, yoga & ayurveda center, and meditation hall.


You need to arrive at IGI airport, New Delhi. From New Delhi, there are budget car rentals or taxi services that are available going to Rishikesh for a cost. Delhi airport to Rishikesh by taxi is a 6 hours journey. You can also get a train to Haridwar which will take approximately 5-7 hours depending on the service you use. Once in Haridwar you will still need to take a taxi to get to Rishikesh.

Food

Taste a myriad of healthy Indian spices and flavours. Get to taste healthy dishes that will nourish your bodies from within. During the course, you will be trained to understand and embody yogic discipline and diet which means healing the body not only from the outside but on the inside as well. Expect a full vegetarian cuisine during your course. You will be served with three healthy delicious meals a day to complement your training. To get a taste of what's in store, think of fresh vegetables mixed with India's famous and aromatic spices. The Bhindi ki subji is a simple vegetarian dish with a flavourful taste because it has hot chapatis or parathas. You can also munch on some healthy and vegetarian kabab, containing some of the most aromatic spices. Who says you can't eat healthy dishes with marvelous tastes? In fact, there are plenty healthy Indian dishes which can be cooked in multitude of ways to retain its nutrients and not compromise on flavour.
