24 Day 200Hr Iyengar Traditional Yoga Teacher Training

Follow this traditional style of teaching yoga according to Sivananda (Hatha), Pattabi jois (Ashtanga) and BKS Iyengar. The influence of Iyengar means that props are included into asana practices to ensure correct alignment and posture. ​


Every asana is utilized as tools so as to guide you gain your usual meditative state. It will help focus your mind in more evocative ways which can deepen your practices. If your goal is to be a Yoga Instructor, you’ll become very sure with sequencing, guiding principles of breath movement and focusing and complete knowledge of eight limbs of yoga as offered by Maharishi Patanjali through our philosophical class and different kinds of meditative session.

This 200 hour yoga teacher training will offer you a very thorough study of asana, pranayama, meditation, philosophy, anatomy, sequencing and adjustments, enabling you to become a confident and capable yoga teacher.

A traditional fisherman village, Arambol Beach is a pristine and secluded beach in North Goa and can be approached by a winding road through the grove of cashew trees. It is a rocky as well as sandy beach and has a fresh water lagoon which extends along the bottom of the valley into a thick jungle. The lake is fed by boiling hot springs and is lined with sulfurous mud which people love applying on their body to do wonders to their skin.

The Arambol Beach extends over 16 km and consists of two beaches, more popular is the main beach known as Harmal beach, a long stretch of curving sand and good for swimming. The second beach can only be reached on foot and is bordered by steep cliffs on both sides.

The easiest way to get to Arambol is by plane. Fly to Dabolim International Airport and from there take a taxi to Arambol, which takes approximately forty five minutes.

Food

Three delicious vegetarian meals are given each day. The food is based on Ayurvedic principals and offers you healthy, nourishing cuisine that has all the flavours of the traditional Indian cuisine. There are also healthy options including fresh local fruits and salads as well as herbal teas. 

You are encouraged to embrace this healthy, vegetarian way of eating during the training. All meals are made on site with great care and attention and meals are eaten and shared together during breaks.

Syllabus

HOURS + TOPICS

This module will cover alignments for teaching, various sequencing and adjustments. These skills will give you the confidence to become a very detailed and thorough yoga teacher to work with students with various ailments.

Enjoy a daily asana practice and learn how to break down each asana in order to teach to a variety of students. 48 -80 Yogasana (postures) will be covered including- advanced asanas (Hatha Yoga tradition) and advanced asana techniques of Patanjali and Ashtanga Yoga.

An important part of a yogi lifestyle is Ayurveda. In this module you will learn specific foods and techniques to balance the different doshas.

Master and learn how to teach various breathing techniques to calm the mind and cleanse the body. Learn about different breathing techniques (Nadi shodhan, surya bhedana, chandra bhedana, sheetali shitkari, kapalabhati).

Dive deeply into the studies of human anatomy and physiology. Learn about how yoga can be used in the prevention of illness. Find out what the koshers are and why they are significant to yoga.

Understand various historical aspects and teachings of yoga and understand what it means to live a yogic lifestyle. Learn four paths of Yoga -HATHA, RAJ, Gyan, Bhakti Yoga.

This module will cover Yoga Nidra  and progressive relaxation, Mudras and yogic gestures in practice as well as an introduction to the Chakras and the energy systems in the body. 

Understand how to teach individual alignments for different students. Learn the art of sequencing a class plus adjustment and alignment skills for helping students reach their maximum potential in class.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the training, you'll receive a RYT-200 Yoga Alliance approved certification. This accreditation allows you to teach globally.
