Sach’a Munay Retreat & Yoga Center is located near Arin, a small village near Calca in the middle of the Incas Sacred Valley. Sach’a Munay, which translates as "love from the ancient forest" is located at the base of sacred mountains Pitisuray and Sawasiray right underneath a beautiful waterfall. It is in the heart of the Sacred Valley only 1 hour away from Cusco and 2 hours from the majestic archeological site of Machhu Picchu.
The center is eco-friendly, made from local materials, and offers lush flower gardens, fruit trees, hummingbirds, majestic rocks, cleansing waterfalls, hammocks, delicious vegetarian cuisine and stunning views of the apus (sacred mountains) and surrounding lands. Each day will start in a beautiful location, connecting with nature and yourself through sunrise meditation, pranayama and asana practice, honoring silence in this sacred time. The experience of the day is one of learning and living yogic theory and healing practices through interactive workshops, classes and dynamic group discussions. In the morning classes, you will explore the fundamentals of yogic living, anatomy, meditation, cleansing practices, pranayama, Ayurveda and the ancient wisdom of the Yoga Sutras through interactive and comprehensive lectures.
In the afternoon classes, you will explore Art of Teaching and Art of Touch/ Alignment in which students practice peer teaching. In the first half of the training, students learn and practice teaching a Sacred Flow sequence.
You will also take an in depth look at alignment, adjustments, benefits and contraindication of each pose. In the second half of the training, you will explore other yogic traditions (Hatha, Restorative, Yin), share the fundamentals of intelligent sequencing, theme weaving and study advanced poses and techniques. Students will also create their own full sequence from the tools provided, share through peer teaching and receive feedback from their peers and facilitators.
Each evening will close with Satsang, a sacred community gathering, which may be meditation, kirtan, chanting, sacred ceremony or a sharing circle to connect and release the day’s challenges, triumphs, insights and joys.
You will also experience the medicine of this land through Full and New Moon Ceremonies, Fire Ceremony, Water Blessing Ceremony, Earth Gratitude Ceremony, Puja (Hindi offering), Cacao ceremony and more. These rituals facilitate personal transformation and healing and will leave you feeling cleansed and empowered.
