HOURS + TOPICS

Each morning session will include a comprehensive guided meditation and a whole asana vinyasa class. There will also be workshop sessions in Yin Yoga, Kundalini, Thai Chi, and AcroYaga.

The teachers will incorporate principles of alignment, heart themes, specific sequencing techniques, and anatomy teachings into the daily practice.

Each day we will practice a specific meditation such as but not limited to Metta, Shamata  (Concentration), Mindfulness, Sushumna Nadi, Microcosmic Orbit, Walking, Contemplation, Visualization, Somatic, Chakra. That may also include the use of mudras, mantras, and invocations based on the day's theme.

There also will be some non-contact hours dedicated to daily self- practice. The student will be assigned specific meditation or asana exploration instructions to prepare the student better to cultivate an ongoing daily practice. The student is required to journal on this experience in preparation for an open group discussion on this subject.

You will learn intuitive and empathetic observation for all postural adjusting. This section will include lectures, Q&As, and open discussion exercises where the student will learn how to be present before accessing and implementing proper meditation posture adjustment.

The yoga school prides itself in making anatomy fun! They will bring in an highly skilled anatomy specialist for this section, and it will also be integrated into daily practice.

After each daily asana practice, an Asana Lab will break down each foundational posture for its benefits and proper alignments and cueing. Also discussed will be theming, intention, which category of asana (such as forward folding postures, hip openers, inversions, or backbends ) and why. You will learn how to build asana postures from the foundation up, using the Principles of "Foundation, Alignment, Unification and Rise." You will also discuss the specific meditation practice of the day - the benefits, challenges, and the proper application for each meditation and how it may relate to the asana practice and living well.

Posturing and counter-posturing are fundamental principles in the vinyasa teaching method and how to choose specific asanas to maintain a sattvic balance.

The teachers will explain the 3' focal points' and where they are in the body in all the different categories of asanas. They will further refine the asana breakdown to help avoid injuries during the practice by maintaining stability while increasing flexibility. They will use foundational asanas to expand to more advanced variations. There will be an emphasis on 'playing the edge' of a posture and how students can understand, practice, and teach this idea skillfully and safely as they deepen into the asanas.

Also, you will look at the practice of 'attention' vs. 'focus' and how they differ. This section will also include pranayama and the Nauli practice.

The teachers are committed to teaching the participants to find comfort in connecting and supporting other people clearly and compassionately. You will concentrate on inversion practices and Partner Yoga for the foundation to all hands-on postural adjusting, from assisting a meditation posture, handstands or savasana. You will also practice partner stretching, partner counterbalancing, compassionate communication, AcroYoga and group exercises. This is the best way for the student to establish a solid foundation to gain sensitivity, comfort and confidence in administering hands-on assistance.
