28 Day 200hr Alignment & Therapeutic Yoga Training

Join an Alignment & Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training Course with this school that has already certified more than 240 graduates in 10 different courses, and has over 40 years of combined teaching experience. 

The program is a unique blend of modern-day science and classic yoga inspired by Iyengar yoga, physiotherapy and various kinds of yoga therapy.

The base of the 200-hours course is skeletal and asana alignment, anatomy, therapeutic yoga principles and the fascinating body-mind-emotion connection. 

The teacher training course is a comprehensive presentation of yoga as therapy, a vehicle to promote health and a discipline providing genuine well-being. 

In this month-long immersion, you will build a strong foundation and understanding of the physical and emotional layers of the yoga practice. 

You will learn about physical anatomy, skeletal misalignments, common pathologist, common yoga injuries and how to avoid them, asana alignment in Iyengar Yoga, hands on adjustments, therapeutic touch and much more.

The aim is to teach you - whether you are an aspiring yoga teacher or a yoga teacher already - the important core principles behind body structure, alignment and therapeutic yoga, so that you can integrate this knowledge later on in your self-practice and teaching. 

Every subject you'll learn will start with the theoretical class, followed by the related practice. Since this course is designed for aspirant teachers, you will be trained to actually teach and therefore you will start to practice teaching already from the second week.

Included in the price of the training is your comprehensive course manual book and carrying cotton bag, daily light breakfast of tea and fruits, daily vegan lunch, Yoga Alliance Certification, filtered water and optional accommodation.

The venue is quietly nestled in the green, lush and rich jungle surroundings of the Island. In your spare time you will be able to enjoy this beautiful part of the world, and several nature excursions are also part of the training program itself.

Koh Phangan is a tropical paradise island in the Gulf of Thailand. With no airport, only ferries to neighbouring islands or the mainland, it retains its old-world charm and beauty.

It is a rain-forested, mountainous island with beautiful bays and beaches all around it's palm-fringed coastline. The pace of life here slows down to the sound of the sea and the jungle.

It is a sanctuary for yogis and those on their spiritual journey, attracting healers, teachers and students alike who all come together to create a real community.

The best time to visit the island is from December to March when the water is high and good for swimming. You can reach the island by ferry from the neighbouring island of Koh Samui where there is an international airport with good connecting services to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Hong Kong. If you are not in a hurry then trains and buses run down from Bangkok with ferry connections.

Food

All of the food is vegan. Food is prepared with love and attention, made out of fresh and local ingredients, aiming to provide a notorious, rich and healthy eating experience. 

A light breakfast of tea and fruits as well as a daily lunch is included in the price of the training.

HOURS + TOPICS

Find your own unique voice as a yoga teacher. Learn postural alignment and introduction to yoga therapy.Learn to structure an intelligent Yoga class: Vinyasa, Alignment or even Therapeutic. Learn about Yoga Therapy, Yoga Philosophy and teachers' ethics. Learn the principles of demonstration, observation, assisting and adjusting. Get experience in actual teaching and experience a variety of teaching styles.

Learn about optimal body posture, correct alignment, safe backward bending and forward bending, maintaining healthy knees and about the Psoas muscle. Learn about headstand & different inversions, active and passive spinal twists and Yoga for stress management, heart health, digestion, seniors and recovering students.

Asana alignment, Sun-Salutations A, B as well as therapeutic and modified versions, Vinyasa and Hatha class structure methods, menstrual and Prenatal Yoga, various kinds of meditations, massage, Pranayama, bandhas, kriyas, and Ayurveda. 

Practice yoga with alignment and feel the difference it makes in your body, breath and mind. Bring new awareness to your yoga practice.
Learn how to create injury-free yoga classes. Gain new flexibility, strength and stability. Learn about your own body posture and how to optimize it.
Learn about the energetic body. Learn about the traditional yogic lifestyle and philosophy - and adapting it to your everyday modern life. Meditate twice a day, and chant Mantras and devotional heart opening songs.

Certification

Upon completion of all exams and requirements, each student will receive a Yoga Alliance Certification as a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher. This allows you to teach globally.

Luna Alignment Yoga is located in the small yogi Srithanu village on the breathtaking Koh Phangan Island, Thailand. The venue is situated in the lovely tranquil Pranayama Garden, quietly nestled in the green, lush and rich jungle surroundings of the Island.

The closest airport is Koh Samui which has frequent flights from Bangkok, Phuket and Singapore, Hong Kong and several direct flights each week from Chiang Mai and Kuala Lumpur. Transportation to the ferry dock is easy to find at the airport. Ferries depart several times a day with the last one around dusk.
