Location

Siem Reap Province, Cambodia

Siem Reap is the capital city of Siem Reap Province in northwestern Cambodia, and a popular resort town as the gateway to Angkor region. Siem Reap has colonial and Chinese-style architecture in the Old French Quarter, and around the Old Market. Its modern architecture is based on the traditional Khmer style. In the city, there are museums, traditional Apsara dance performances, a Cambodian cultural village, souvenir and handicraft shops, silk farms, rice-paddies in the countryside, fishing villages and a bird sanctuary near the Tonle Sap Lake.

Siem Reap today—being a popular tourist destination—has a large number of hotels, resorts, restaurants and businesses closely related to tourism. This is much owed to its proximity to the Angkor temples, the most popular tourist attraction in Cambodia. It's quite laid-back and a pleasant place to stay while touring the temples and a nice compromise between observing Cambodian life and enjoying the amenities of modern services and entertainment.

Book a flight to the Siem Reap International Airport, the second largest airport in Cambodia to visit this historic city. There are separate terminals for international and domestic flights. Major companies include Phnom Penh Sorya Transport, Capitol Tours, Giant Ibis and GST Express.

Food

There are three meals included as part of the course fee. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. All prepared in the venue's kitchen under the supervision of the chef who has been trained to cater to guests who have special dietary requirements or restrictions.

Meals during this course are 100% vegan. Don’t worry, there is plenty of plant based protein options to keep your body energised. The reason why the meals are only vegan is to prevent anyone from experiencing stomach problems. This does not mean that the local meet is unsafe, however as each student comes from a different part of the world, everyone’s stomach enzymes are used to different biologicals in their local meat. As this is an intensive course, it would not be a good idea to risk missing any classes due to stomach issues.

As part of your registration you will be asked to fill out details about any medical issues or dietary restrictions. All information is strictly confidential for your teacher, as well as the chef so she can make sure that the kitchen staff take extra measures to satisfying students’ needs. Any students with severe allergies will have their meals prepared at a separate area.

During meal times, students have the flexibility of eating their meals in one of the beautiful Gazebos, or by the poolside. Meals are served buffet style and all ingredients are organic and locally sourced.
