Nestled in the lush mountains of central Costa Rica, GreenLagoon Wellbeing Resort occupies acres of stunning lands with private trails leading to a lagoon in the crater of an extinct volcano. Its wildlife and rainforest preserve earned it a 4/5-Level Certificate of Sustainable Tourism from the Costa Rican Tourism Institute. The resort has pristine accommodations in villa family suits and honeymoon bungalows featuring glass walls with an unobstructed view of the stunning Costa Rican jungle.
Relax in the Jacuzzi or cool off in the beautiful pool day or night, all while admiring the magnificent view of La Fortuna city in the valley below. Take a stroll through more than 400 acres of the manicured property where lighted pathways have been created so you can truly enjoy the Costa Rican surroundings. The resort also provides excellent views of the Arenal and Cerro Chato Volcanoes, Fortuna City and the extensive Northern Plains of Costa Rica. Immersed in the 400-acre property are private walking and hiking trails of Cerro Chato ANC Park and Gardens, and the Biological Corridor.
GreenLagoon also has The Garden of Eden Farm which provides a resource of fresh fruits, whole foods and vegetables for the Natura Restaurant and Rikko Harvest Café. The sustainable garden also works as biodigestor to purify and recycle used water from the Wellbeing Resort. The farm is building new greenhouses to plant thousands of germinated seeds – a large variety of root-plants, vegetables, legumes, nuts, seeds, grains, herbs, flowers and medicinal plants as well as fruit trees. These plants will supply the needs of the resort’s restaurants, but also will supply various foods not available to the communities and in some cases not available in the whole country. This project not only supplies whole organic foods to families, but to supermarkets, resorts and local restaurants as well.
Domestic flights are available with NatureAir or Sansa Airlines. Costs are around US$90 for flights to/from San Jose (SJO) or Quepos (Manuel Antonio National Park). There are also direct buses from San Jose or transfer in Ciudad Quesada. The cost of a private transportation with a Costa Rican driver is not much if you compare it with the benefit of a direct safe drive to the destination. For your comfort and relaxation, you can always rent a private shuttle which are available from San Jose to Arenal and other destinations.
