Split Farthing Hall, Venue for 4 Day Find Your Passion Yoga Retreat

Split Farthing Hall is a peaceful 18th Century Georgian home that has been sympathetically restored into a modern luxury retreat venue in scenic North Yorkshire. It is also Dr Maguire’s family home.

The Hall has 6 luxurious en-suite bedrooms complete with fluffy towels and bath robes. The bathrooms are crisp, modern and spacious and stocked with fabulous ayurvedic SUNDÃRI toiletries. Each room is individually decorated with beautiful views and can be either single or shared twin occupancy. Each floor has tea making facilities with a selection of teas, herbal infusions and fresh fruit. The fridges are stocked with fresh lemon and ginger, filtered water and organic milk.

Their therapeutic Spa facilities include the relaxing outdoor hot tub, the detoxing far-infrared sauna and a spacious health studio. A range of massages and therapies is also available for you to enjoy during your stay. Enjoy access to high speed WiFi throughout the house.

Within Split Farthing Hall there is a cosy snug, an oak shelved library and a formal drawing room all with warming fireplaces for those frosty winter evenings. The tranquil attic with its exposed oak trusses is the perfect place for yoga or calming meditation. Outside you can relax in a deckchair on the terrace or stroll around the garden and orchard.

If you choose to travel by train, it is an easy and relaxing 2½ hour journey from either London Kings Cross or Edinburgh, just 2 hours from Manchester and all direct to our local stations (Thirsk and Northallerton). From there, you can opt to take the transportation that Split Farthing Hall offers once you arrive and your return after your retreat. Should you prefer to drive, from Thirsk, take Sutton Rd then continue on Moor Ln and drive to Church Ln.

  North Yorkshire, England

Unlike the rest of northern England, North Yorkshire has survived almost unscathed by the Industrial Revolution. As the largest of Yorkshire's four counties – and the largest county in England –it is also the most beautiful. Located within this natural beauty, Thirsk is an old fashioned market town in the Vale of Mowbray North Yorkshire. Famous for its race course, 15th Century Church and Thomas Lord, it is superbly positioned midway between the stunning North York Moors and the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.

Thirsk has a charm of its own, essentially unchanged and influenced by the world. It centres around a bustling cobbled market square, dominated by the town clock, with its Monday & Saturday markets and independent shopping. Visitors from all over the world are impressed by the warm and friendly welcome of the residents of this gem of a town.

You can enjoy a number of flat short walks through the town and along the river or may prefer to travel a little further afield to explore the small pretty villages with their sandstone cottages. More strenuous walking can be found on the Hambleton Hills and the moorland tracks such as The Drove Road. The Swale Way long distance path passes through Thirsk connecting Boroughbridge and Kirby Stephen.

Located 20 miles from the Durham Tees Valley Airport, Thirsk offers something for the whole family and at any time of the year -you won’t be disappointed.
