It is set in ten acres of land with beautiful sea views from the cliffs; adjacent to the Seven Sisters Country Park, The National Trust Crowlink Estate and Friston Forest. The environment and ambience encourage an open, safe, relaxed and intimate atmosphere that promotes learning and self-development.

In this 3 Night/ 4 Day Weekend Yoga Retreat, rejuvenate, relax and de-stress with Charlotte Watts over a long and luxurious getaway at a truly stunning location in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Yoga content will vary according to time of day, more energising and opening in the mornings, moving to relaxing and restoring towards the end of the day and optional late night meditation. 

All activities are optional but it is best for the group if you try to participate in most, especially the yoga sessions. Content and times will vary according to the weather and the group’s needs, so you’ll get to practice in a cosier environment during winter or you can experience evening meditations held outdoors whenever weather permits. 

Your programme will include two daily yoga sessions, alongside options to join a silent walk, nutrition talk and evening mindfulness meditations – or simply take some time in the countryside, relax or chat with others. The cost of this retreat also includes your food and accommodations.

TIME OFF There are plenty of nooks and crannies at Gayle’s for you to retreat whenever you need and the studio will be available as a silent space between classes. During your free time you are free to explore, walk, relax, read your favorite book, or just stay in your room. There is also an open-air pool where you can take a dip or just rejuvenate after a day of yoga and meditation.

Gayles is a small retreat centre ideally situated in outstanding countryside on the South Downs in the South East of England, five miles from Eastbourne and fifteen from Brighton. The environment and ambience at Gayles encourages an open, safe, relaxed and intimate atmosphere that promotes learning and self-development. Here, rural doesn’t mean hard to reach; there are excellent train services from the nearby towns that provide direct travel to and from London Victoria, Gatwick, Ashford International, Brighton and so on. Gayles is just one-and-a-half hour drive from London and there is a regular bus service that conveniently stops beside the entrance. For European visitors seeking retreat facilities there is a ferry service to and from mainland Europe from Newhaven, which is only a twenty-minute drive away.

Eastbourne offers the most accessible railway station as it has direct links with London Victoria, Gatwick, Ashford International, Brighton and, of course, many other places. The National Rail Enquiries website offers travel information and a booking facility.



Good quality locally sourced food is tasty and nourishing and is served in the relaxed atmosphere of the beautifully converted dining room. If the weather is sunny there is the option of eating out in the open on the terrace. Food will be vegetarian and organic and Charlotte works alongside the chef to ensure it follows her exacting nutritional standards! Any food intolerance can be accommodated and you will be asked for details upon booking.

Eastbourne is a town within East Sussex. With a scenic seafront, Eastbourne is a seaside resort which relies largely on tourism. Dubbed as Britain’s sunniest town, Eastbourne experiences a maritime climate with cool summers and mild winters.

A number of Victorian hotels can be found in Eastbourne, East Sussex. Plus, various establishments are located around the town. A children’s play and adventure park is found at the eastern end of the seafront. There are also museums in this seaside resort. The “How we lived then” museum is a museum of shops with more than 100,000 exhibits, covering the period from the 1800s to the Second World War.

The use of private cars is the most used transport in town. But there are bus services within Eastbourne. Providers such as Stagecoach runs routes to Polegate, Hailsham, Tunbridge Wells, Uckfield and East Grinstead.
