The perfect combination of beautiful location, great facilities and accessibility, set amidst rolling hills of rural Wales, Garth Barns sits nestled in unspoiled and natural beauty in the countryside that surrounds the historic and pretty town of Llanidloes. A world away from it all, deep in the charm of rural Wales and yet easily accessed from London, Bristol, Manchester and Birmingham.

The yoga classes will take place in the large and airy yoga room with underfloor heating. A hatha yoga based practice with an integration of other traditions will naturally open the heart and nurture you to a space of surrender and stillness. A typical class will include asana (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), hands-on adjustments, guided relaxation, chanting and a taste of philosophy. Typically each class will last for 2 hours.

The day will begin with silent meditation. This will be followed by the morning yoga class. You then have breakfast followed by free time, massages and then afternoon yoga practice. In the evenings there will be other activities that may include guided meditation, inspiring cinema and bonfires. Garth Barns offers comfortable accommodation in which to relax and enjoy a good book, take to the hills and fields on long (or short) stunning nature walks. Amble about the local town and have a cup of tea or peruse the shops. Take a sauna or dip in the natural swimming pond. There will be delicious vegetarian food and plenty of time just to hang out and chat, meet new people, read, relax and enjoy being in nature and taking a break. Venue   Garth Barns

Garth Barns are set in glorious countryside near Llanidloes in mid Wales. There are two barns - Hafod and Ty Nant, and together they comfortably sleep up to 32 guests in 12 bedrooms, 10 of which are en suite. Hafod has big living and dining spaces where guests from both barns can dine and socialise together.

The two large barn conversions that house the Yoga Shala and all of the accommodation, are heated from renewable biomass and the drinking water is from the farm’s own pure spring water source. The barns surround the old farmyard, now a lovely space with gardens, a stream and an outdoor dining area for warmer days. There is also a gym and Finnish sauna. For wild swimmers there is a swimming pond. The venue is set within 200 acres of farmland with plenty of walks in the hills and valleys right on the doorstep.

The barns are part of Garth Farm, 240 acres of hill, fields, woodland and dingle with a private lake, wildlife pools and spectacular views. Owls, woodpeckers, buzzards, nuthatches, woodcock and redstarts are resident and red kites, ducks and swans are regular visitors.

Llanidloes, where Garth Barns is located, is well served by bus services to the coast at Aberystwyth, to Newtown, Welshpool and Shrewsbury and to Rhayader and to Llandrindod. The National Express shuttle also operates through Llanidloes for services to Birmingham and the National Express UK network. You can also travel by rail and go to Caersws station. You can then take a taxi to the venue.

  Powys, Wales

Llanidloes, one of the most stunning towns in Mid Wales, revels in a slower pace of life. Surrounded by soft mountain scenery, the area is very popular with wildlife enthusiasts and hikers. It is the closest town, and within walking distance, to the source of the River Severn, whilst Glyndrw's Way National Trail and the Clywedog Reservoir and Dam are also nearby. Llanidloes combines a respect for its heritage, in the form of the Minerva Quilt Centre for example - or the many fairs and carnivals that light up the town, with a typically alternative focus on whole-foods and fair trade, making it one of the most interesting places to shop or eat in the region.

Llanidloes is part of Wales’ biggest county - Powys. Small villages, quiet market towns and an abundance of sheep litter the undulating hills and moorland surround this mesmerizing county. It's an overwhelmingly rural place, ideal for walking and cycling, but this county isn't just green in a literal sense – Machynlleth has become a focal point for the nation's environmentally friendly aspirations, and all over the county efforts to restore the threatened red kite have been met with outstanding success.

Easy to reach, Llanidloes is situated only two hours drive from Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and Cardiff, with the national rail network running close by. Yet Llanidloes is a million miles away from the stresses and strains so prevalent amidst the hustle and bustle of modern life. So accommodate yourself to a slower pace and relax amidst some of the most unspoilt and undiscovered scenery Wales has to offer.
