5 Week 300hr Alignment & Therapeutic Yoga Training

The base of this 5 weeks 300-Hour course is skeletal and asana alignment, therapeutic yoga principles, and the fascinating body-mind-emotion connection.


This program is a unique blend of modern-day science and classic yoga, Inspired by Iyengar yoga, physiotherapy and various kinds of yoga therapy. 


The school and leaders believe that the yoga practice should be adapted to every student needs, even when teaching a large group. 


The aim is to enrich you with the important core principles behind body structure, alignment and therapeutic yoga, so that you can integrate this knowledge in your self-practice and teaching, taking it to next level.


You will be able to reinvent your yoga practice and enrich your yoga teaching with a new extensive toolbox of yoga methods, approaches an techniques. 


You will acquire the ability to evaluate individual needs and adapt the yoga practice accordingly, enabling you to create an intelligent, health-promoting and injury-free yoga environment.


The base of the approach and teaching is Asana alignment (by Iyengar yoga). The staff encourages all students to find their own unique voice as yoga teachers, relying on this solid ground of alignment. And so the 300-Hour Program can fit all kinds of yoga teachers, as long as they are curious and have a desire to learn more and deepen their knowledge. 


The 300-Hour Alignment Yoga TTC program is designed in the most approachable way, teaching every topic in both theoretical and practical manners. Every subject you learn will start with a theoretical class, followed by the related practice. The course addresses yoga teachers of all disciplines and enables everyone to move at their own pace within the given frame of the program. 

Included in the price of the training is your comprehensive course manual book, yoga carrying cotton bag, daily light breakfast of tea and fruits, daily vegan lunch, Yoga Alliance Certification, filtered water and optional accommodation.

Location

Koh Phangan, Thailand

Koh Phangan is a tropical paradise island in the Gulf of Thailand. With no airport, only ferries to neighbouring islands or the mainland, it retains its old-world charm and beauty.

It is a rain-forested, mountainous island with beautiful bays and beaches all around it's palm-fringed coastline. The pace of life here slows down to the sound of the sea and the jungle.

It is a sanctuary for yogis and those on their spiritual journey, attracting healers, teachers and students alike who all come together to create a real community.

The best time to visit the island is from December to March when the water is high and good for swimming. You can reach the island by ferry from the neighbouring island of Koh Samui where there is an international airport with good connecting services to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Hong Kong. If you are not in a hurry then trains and buses run down from Bangkok with ferry connections.

Food

All of the food is vegan (mostly Asian style) and provided by the well-known restaurant in Koh-Phangan, which is happily serving the island community since its opening back in 2009. Food is prepared with love and attention, made out of fresh and local ingredients, aiming to provide a notorious, rich and healthy eating experience. As a bonus, students are entitled to a 15% discount when dining in the Art Café restaurant. Srithanu has plenty of healthy eating cafes and you will be spoiled for choice! Food costs are very low and meals are of a high standard. Choose from authentic Thai cuisine, or try some of the famous raw and vegan cafes in the village. 

A light breakfast of tea and fruits as well as a daily lunch is included in the price of the training.

Practice yoga with alignment and feel the difference it makes in your body, breath and mind, bring new awareness and understanding to your own yoga practice, gain new body awareness and proprioception, gain new flexibility, strength and stability and understand what you need to develop or avoid in your own yoga practice, learn about your own body posture and how to optimize it, learn about the connection of your life story to your body posture, get better understanding of your own body-mind-emotion patterns and connections, learn the basics of Ayurveda, learn about the Chakras and the Energetic Body, learn about the traditional yogic lifestyle and philosophy, practice Mindfulness Meditation daily, practice Classic Yogic Meditation, eat a healthy vegan diet and meet like-minded people and gain lifelong friends.

Find and develop your own unique voice as a yoga teacher, enrich your teaching skills with our 'Art of Teaching' workshops, learn postural alignment and introduction to yoga therapy, learn to structure an intelligent yoga class, learn about different kinds of Yoga Therapy, experience a variety of teaching styles and techniques, learn how to teach injury-free yoga classes, learn to adapt the yoga practice to different students unique needs, learn more about the principles of demonstration, observation, assisting and adjusting for a yoga teacher, learn how to give safe and beneficial hands-on adjustments, learn the basics of Therapeutic Touch bodywork,  learn Yoga Philosophy and how to apply it to your everyday life, and study teachers' ethics.

This section includes asana alignment, alignment of sun-salutations as well as therapeutic and modified versions, Vinyasa and Hatha yoga class structure methods, optimal body posture and postural miss-alignments, how to work with the core in a beneficial and balanced way, shoulder girdle and correct chest opening, safe backward bending for a healthy spine, sciatica and piriformis syndrome and how to adapt your student's practice accordingly, safe forward bending and the safety mechanism of the lower back, maintaining healthy knees, the psoas muscle and its amazing emotional aspect, safe and adapted practice of headstand & different Inversions, safe practice of the shoulder-stand sequence, benefits of active and passive spinal twists, adapting the yoga practice for menstruation and pregnancy, yoga for seniors and illness recovering students, yoga for self healing, yoga for stress management, yoga for heart health, yoga for better digestion, mindfulness, classical yogic meditation and other various kinds of meditations, simple Fascia and hydration release, Therapeutic-Touch bodywork, Pranayama, Bandhas, Kriya techniques, Ayurveda and basic ayurvedic yoga classes designed for the three doshas.

Certification

Upon completion of all exams and requirements, each student will receive a Yoga Alliance Certification as a 300 hour Registered Yoga Teacher. This allows you to teach globally.

Time Off

Saturdays you will have a full day off. On the last week there will be a Kirtan night from 19:00 till 20:30 (Kirtan is the meditative chanting of Sanskrit mantras, accompanied by live music). When starting the journey together there will be a visit to the village’s Thai temple where we will meditate and then receive a blessing for the upcoming month from the Thai monks in a traditional ceremony. And as another treat, towards the end of the course, Arnaud, one of our teachers and an avid gardener and nature explorer, will take you on a field trip where we can all meditate, relax and enjoy nature in the beautiful and wild island surroundings.

Luna Alignment Yoga is located in the small yogi Srithanu village on the breathtaking Koh Phangan Island, Thailand. The venue is situated in the lovely tranquil Pranayama Garden, quietly nestled in the green, lush and rich jungle surroundings of the Island.

The closest airport is Koh Samui which has frequent flights from Bangkok, Phuket and Singapore, Hong Kong and several direct flights each week from Chiang Mai and Kuala Lumpur. Transportation to the ferry dock is easy to find at the airport. Ferries depart several times a day with the last one around dusk.
