Every Monday year-round, El Sabanero offers week-long retreats for those wishing to escape the real world to a pocket of paradise. Yoga twice daily from a collection of resident, regional and international teachers, airport transfers, delicious vegetarian meals and five nights' accommodation are included, while the resort's impressive infinity pool, natural grounds and poolside bar offer plenty of downtime entertainment and relaxation. Airport transfers from Liberia Airport are also included to make your journey one of ease.

Quiet and beautiful existing in harmony with nature is the El Sabanero Eco-Lodge. Located on a hillside in Cañafistula near Tamarindo the Hotel overlooks the Cañafistula valley with beautiful views from all Chalets. 

El Sabanero is located near four of the most popular and beautiful beaches in the area, Playa Avellanas, Playa Negra, Playa Junquillal and Tamarindo are all just a few minutes drive away (beaches are not within walking distance).

The Eco Lodge strongly values the natural surroundings and the community they are part of. The team respects the land, water, air, natural, and cultural resources which they depend on by recycling, composting, and using biodegradable cleaning products. The staff live and teach in a way that is harmonious with the principles of yoga and are devoted to deepen connection to the community and nature

The chalets are built out of teak trees grown in the area. The surrounding tropical gardens add indispensable privacy and peace to each unit. All chalets feature private bathrooms, air conditioning, fridge, safe and a private porch equipped with 2 rocking chairs in which you can spend hours reading or enjoying the surrounding nature. Relax and enjoy the beautiful view of the volcano.


Airport pick ups from Liberia Airport are offered.

El Sabanero prides itself on its delicious, nutritionally-balanced vegetarian menu from which you will be able to choose your three daily meals. Locally and regionally sourced ingredients are lovingly prepared by the eco-resort's kitchen team. Staff are always on hand to offer you nutritional information and valuable education that you can take with you back into your daily life to continue your healthy journey.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the open-air dining area, surrounding you with the sights and sounds of this magical part of Costa Rica as you eat. 

Dishes are locally and internationally inspired, with local and Central American cuisine a significant part of the menu, while international fare is also available for those with a less diverse palate.

Dietary requirements can be provided for with prior notice, and the vegetarian cuisine can be adapted as required.

Liberia International Airport, also known as the Daniel Oduber International Airport, is a 45-minute drive from Tamarindo. (Airlines that fly into Liberia International include American, Continental, Jet Blue, US Air, Air Canada, Taca, Copa and Delta. Please contact these airlines for schedules and fares.)

San Jose Juan Santamaria International Airport is a 4-5 hours’ drive from Tamarindo. Domestic flights between San Jose and Tamarindo are also available.

Buses, shuttles, taxicabs and rental cars are all available at both airports.
