This 7 day intensive Breath & Pranayama Retreat aims to guide aspirants to reveal the deeper layers of the mind and cultivate a harmonious lifestyle. 

This retreat is designed for beginners or beginners with basic knowledge of yoga and pranayama practices, for those who wish to go through a deep detoxification from life through yogic wisdom, science and practices.

You will restore balance into your life, resolve your inner conflicts, and allow you to fulfil your potential to become a complete human being. 


Apart from the breathing and pranayama practices, students can participate in sessions on -

Pratyahara (internalisation of sensory inputs)

Dharana (concentration)

Dhyana (meditation) processes drawn from the Patanjali Yoga Sutras – ancient Yogic doctrine that aims to integrate our body, mind, heart and souls for complete living.

Enjoy twice daily group Yoga sessions and one daily Meditation session. The teachers are unique, being steeped in ancient knowledge and also trained in modern teaching methods.

The retreat is structured carefully to allow experience of not just the physical aspects of Yoga but also Karma Yoga (selfless work), various Yogic kriyas, and yoga nidra (deep relaxation).

The price is inclusive of all lessons and lectures, 6 nights’ accommodation, healthy nutritious vegetarian three meals; breakfast, lunch, and dinnerFiltered water, herbal tea, and snacks, Wi-Fi connection, free use of yoga tools during the course, local sightseeing exploration and participation certification.

Tapovan area is full of meadows, streams and flowering plants and the meadows are considered as one of the best high altitude meadows in India. The exquisite setting on the fast-flowing Ganges, surrounded by forested hills, is conducive for meditation and mind expansion. In the evening, an almost supernatural breeze blows down the valley, setting temple bells ringing as sadhus, pilgrims and tourists prepare for the nightly ganga aarti - a fire offering or ritual performed on the Ganges.


Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi (DEL) is the international airport that is closest to the schools in Rishikesh and Dharamsala. From there, you have several options to get to Rishikesh. It is recommend to either take an additional flight from New Delhi to Dehra Dun (DED) or arrange for a taxi or bus for the final part of your journey.

Food

Three delicious vegetarian meals are served each day during your training. Snacks and filtered water and tea are also provided. Meals will be wholesome and inline with a yogic diet. Rishikesh is a vegetarian city and there is a great focus on hearty vegetable dishes, dahl, lentils, rice and homemade breads and condiments. Flavours and diverse and both delicious as they are healing.

Yoga Vidya Mandiram School, Venue for 7 Day Yogic Breathing & Pranayama Retreat

All Yoga Teacher Training Courses and other Yoga Courses and Retreats are organized at that Yoga School in Rishikesh, India.  Dehradun’s Joly Grant Airport (DED)  is approximately a 15km away from the center. The school is situated in the magical city of Himalayan Mountain Valley. During your yoga training you will be accommodated in a peaceful environment which is perfectly suitable for the Yoga Teacher Training Courses, Yoga Retreats and other Yoga courses.

The venue is located in Swiss Cottage in the Tapovan region. It is like a tiny village in a valley surrounded by mountains and elevated and hidden from the chaotic and noisy streets of Tapovan, Laxman Jhula.  It is much more peaceful and quiet here, but still only 5-10 minutes walk from the main street. 


The school is close to the Holy Ganga and surrounded by the Himalayan mountains. The accommodation is equipped with balconies from where you can have a stunning and breath-taking view of the sacred Himalayan Mountains. There is a beautiful garden inside the campus where classes are often held for the students. As far as your day to day needs are concerned the shops, restaurants, ATM, health-care, and other daily needs all within walking distance.
