The Salty Pelican hostel sits snuggled between the sun-dappled shores of the Cascais bay and Sintras dramatic mountain range. Take a stroll on the seaside promenade and discover many beachfront cafes where you can absorb the clean swathes of golden sand with the wide stretch of the Atlantic sweeping around the bay to Cascais. Sitting there, sipping on a galao, Portugal’s version of a café latte, you can limit yourself to thinking nothing but good thoughts.
The Salty Pelican’s retreat has just had a complete renovation from top to bottom, so you'll find everything new, comfortable, modern, secure and clean. The center comes with comfy new beds, personal lockers, fully equipped guest’s kitchen, laundry facilities, luggage storage room, herb garden, table tennis and new super clean bathrooms with sea views. It's been converted into a stunning traveler's meeting point; featuring a cozy lounge, awesome chill-out BBQ patio and peaceful gardens with bean bags and hammocks.
Most travelers to Cascais arrive from either Lisbon’s international Airport or Lisbon city center. There are several ways to get to Cascais from there. If you are coming from the Lisbon airport, take the red metro line towards São Sebastião and get off at the Alameda station and there you must change to green line that will take you directly to Cais do Sodré station. From the aboveground Cais do Sodré station, take the train that connects Lisbon to Cascais, and get off at Monte Estoril Station. Sit on the left side of the train for the best views.
