Before beginning the days of silent retreat, you will get a detailed Wellness Consultation regarding your health, food preferences, specific daily routines and requirements and preferred meal timings. 

You will be provided a handbook in which they can write down their thoughts and emotions during your period of silence. You will spend Day 2 - Day 5 (4 days) in silence but will be able to break your silence and speak to the staff when you require something, though this should be kept minimal. 

Spending time in solitary contemplation can bring deep-seated emotional, intellectual or spiritual issues to the fore. The trained staff will be there to provide any support required. During the silent retreat you will be carefully looked after so the hosts may modify your diet or introduce certain activities to keep you balanced.

The meals during the retreat are also specially customized and prepared with ingredients that are known to calm the mind and are easy to digest. The ingredients for the meals are freshly hand-picked from the organic vegetable and herb gardens, and all preparations are light and nutritious. According to ayurveda, self-imposed mouna during eating greatly aids digestion and improves overall health.

On Day 6, which marks the end of the 'Mouna' part of the Retreat, you will have an interactive session with the wellness consultants, to discuss any questions and share your experience of the past 4 days. On Day 6 and 7, you are welcome to spend time interacting with guests and partaking in any activities that you choose to.

Standard inclusions are your accommodations, wellness consultation on arrival, gourmet vegetarian meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), twice daily group yoga sessions and daily group chanting or sound meditation session.

Bangalore or Begalaru is India’s third largest cities. Once dubbed the “Garden CIty of India”, on the outskirts is this beautiful rural and peaceful area.

You can get into Bangalore through the KempeGowda International Airport located in Devanahalli. International flights are available. The airport hosts 10 domestic airlines and 21 international airlines connecting the city to about 50 destinations across India and the rest of the world. 

Bangalore also has two major railway terminals. The Bangalore City railway station is situated in the heart of the city. Most trains, both local and long-distance, arrive and depart from here.

Food

All meals are included in the nightly room rate. Special dietary requests such as wheat-free, dairy free, low-calorie, vegan, etc are accommodated on request.

Garden Cottage at Shreyas Retreat

Garden Cottage

The garden cottages have fixed bases, multi-layered canvas tops and superb bathrooms with private open-air courtyards. Each tent has its own veranda and they are well spread out to ensure privacy. All the rooms and tents are decorated in calm, earthy colours and in an almost minimalist or Aman style. The linen & furnishings are of the highest quality and the ‘finish’ of almost every aspect is second to none– immensely stylish & comfortable. 

Every cottage has a King-sized bed, an en-suite bathroom, is air-conditioned, has an overhead fan, complimentary Internet access, intercom, local and international dialing, wake-up service, tea and coffee making machines, showers, hair dryer, bathrobes, toiletries, slippers, turn-down service and electronic safe. Water at Shreyas is purified on site and is provided in all bedrooms.

The 3 poolside cottages overlook the signature antique-pillared entrance – open your door and step out to an infinity pool surrounded by flowering frangipani trees, an outdoor heated Jacuzzi and the central courtyard of the retreat.

All cottages have en suite bathrooms. The poolside cottages have king-size beds (twin bed-configuration not available). The cottages are suitable for 2 adults. 2 children under the age of 8 and can be accommodated free of charge (a mattress is provided). They are also wheelchair-accessible.​
