Discover the Best Yoga Retreats in Asia

Who doesn't want a tropical vacation for their next getaway.

There are so many options to choose from in Asia and all of them have so much on offer.

Jungle or beach is the main decision.

In the hills or by the turquoise waters.

At both you can enjoy the hot and humid weather.

Awesome retreat centers are everywhere here.

And then there's the delicious food whichever country you pick.

Not forgetting the large and friendly yoga community with great teachers.

With the health food cafes and alternative therapies available too.

Who can go wrong in choosing Asia. It really has it all.

Popular Destinations

Let's start with Thailand.

The people are so beautiful and the places too. Best time to visit is January to April and July to September.

Choose from luxury yoga retreats for those who like their comforts and budget yoga retreats all across this beautiful country.

India is always a good option, the home of yoga.

With India make sure you miss the monsoon. It comes through the whole land from July to September. A good time to be somewhere else.

And then there is Sri Lanka which feels like Southeast Asia mixed with Indian wonder.

Best time to travel is December to March here.

If you fancy some more upmarket options then the Indonesian island of Bali is a wonderful location to consider.

Bali's dry season is June until August but the best times to travel can be April and September away from the crowds.

Top Retreat Centers in Asia

We won't list any here because there are so many good ones.

We feel it would be wrong to suggest one over another.

Rest assured that they are established, well organised and create safe and happy environments to enjoy your holiday.

You can take time out and relax into focusing on mind, body and spirit.

Maybe enjoy raw food on a detox retreat too.

And prices are so low that all inclusive retreats are great value and include everyhting you could need.

Including an interesting crowd to hang out with and make new friends.

If you want to explore your meditation further then there are plenty of places to delve deeper into your pranayama meditation.

Whether that's on the beach or in a class.

Enjoy yourself in Asia.

Maybe you would like to know who is writing all of this ...

Hi, my name is Kelly.

For the past decade, I have traveled and worked extensively across the world in health resorts, detox centers, raw food restaurants and retreats.

Teaching and inspiring people on how to live a simple, healthy and mindful lifestyle.

I am a qualified raw vegan chef and certified holistic health coach.

I believe that living a healthy lifestyle is about nurturing body, mind and spirit; fueling your body with life-giving food and movement,

opening your mind with travel and new experiences, and connecting to your spirit by committing to the things that make you feel the most alive.

Here is my own Bali Yoga Retreat Experience

Like many of us, I arrived at my yoga retreat with a host of questions circulating in my mind;
Can I really afford to take time out of my schedule to be here?
Will I fit in with the group dynamic?
Is my practice up to scratch?!

These wandering thoughts had little time to permeate too deeply, and after the initial opening circle
I knew that I was exactly where I needed to be.

I had selected Bali for my retreat destination.

For me, it is a powerful, transformative and deeply magical land whose culture is rich and alive and
the people are warm and welcoming.

The physical beauty of the natural environment is breathtaking and it takes very little time
to let go of where you have come from, and immerse yourself deeply into the evocative landscape.

Over the course of a week, my retreat offered me an indulgent and deeply rewarding
routine of morning yoga sessions, workshops on Ayurveda, healthy diet and yoga philosophy,
sunset meditations or Yoga Nidra, and plenty of spare time to cool off in the pool.

For me, the schedule offered the ideal synergy of structured activities and relaxing down time,
allowing me to deepen my yoga practice on the mat, and also dive deeper into my own inner self,
which is one of the greatest gifts that time on a retreat offers.

The physical movement, delicious healthy cuisine, and nature excursions
helped my physical body to feel strong, robust and brimming with vital energy.

The meditations and workshops kept my mind both clear and alert, my attention present and focused.

I discovered I slept soundly, dreamt vividly, and all of my senses felt alive and accentuated in profound ways.

Realizations and insights came to visit me daily as I had time and space to navigate my inner world and my emotions.

There was a sense of balance, harmony and remarkable inspiration as each day offered new and unexpected gifts.
