This is a very popular yoga style and so there are a lot of yoga courses to choose from.
Read on to find out about the best certification courses and destinations for Vinyasa flow yoga.
This is a Sanskrit word that loosely translates as "to place in a special way". This refers to the sequence of yoga poses that are linked together to form each class.
The breath synchronizes with a continuous flow of postures.
Vinyasa stems from Ashtanga and includes many of the same poses you will find in it's sequence.
Performed using a deep breathing technique, "Ujjayi breathing".
The ujjayi breath helps to build heat and focus in the body and is used both during static holds and when flowing between poses.
The steady and continuous flow of postures often means you will sweat! Yet although classes can move at a fast pace,
the flow-like nature means it becomes a moving meditation.
The focus on the breath helps to train the mind and maintain a sense of stillness and balance within the flowing movement.
What makes Vinyasa different from other styles of yoga is the freedom and diversity of each class - every class is unique.
Because of the great amount of diversity allowed, Vinyasa certifications can vary greatly between schools.
This makes it essential to find the teacher training that suits you best.
You need to know the teacher and teaching style.
Classes may incorporate music or chanting.
