It’s no secret that Costa Rica is well known worldwide to be a hotspot for surfing and yoga. With beaches on the Pacific Ocean, it attracts tourists and surfers from all over the world wanting to venture into the large waves almost all throughout the year. Montezuma, one of the most famous tourist and surfing destinations in Costa Rica, is known for its laid back atmosphere and a bohemian vibe. Home to enthusiasts and lovers of the arts, it is a picturesque village boasting stunning natural beauty with its pristine beaches and waterfalls. Join Anamaya Resort and celebrate the beauty of nature in this 8-day surfing and yoga retreat.
Their retreats run exclusively from Saturday to Saturday ensuring you’ll have a week filled with fun, excitement and relaxation!

The Soul Surfers Yoga Package is a perfect combination of the two seemingly opposing practices. Surfing is seen as intense, thrilling and adventurous whereas yoga is tranquil, controlled and meditative but during this retreat, you’ll discover how the two actually complement each other. This package is for those who are complete beginners and want to learn how to surf, as well as seasoned surfers who want to take their skill level to new heights. The instructors will provide you with individual attention and modify their lessons to meet your needs and goals so you can learn at your own pace. Along with a week full of catching waves and feeling the power of the ocean beneath your feet, you’ll also enjoy daily yoga sessions overlooking 270 degrees of ocean view to improve your flexibility and strength. Anamaya’s Soul Surfing Yoga Retreat offers adventure, relaxation, and overall wellness set in a perfect tropical paradise.

Each day, you will take a van to the best possible surf spots in the area, depending on the size of the waves, tides, and the dynamics of the group. Anamaya Resort’s two favorite spots are Playa Grande in Montezuma, and Playa Hermosa in Santa Teresa. Playa Grande is one of the country’s most beautiful beaches, it is a 30-minutes walk through beach and jungle trails, past waterfalls and beautiful scenery. Playa Hermosa is just north of Santa Teresa. It is the prettiest and broadest beach around, with larger waves and a point break. It’s worth the drive to come out here, and the team usually brings all Anamaya’s guests here every Thursday afternoon for a bonfire.

The cost of this retreat includes your accommodation, meals, 10 yoga classes, 5 surf lessons, board rentals, cooking class, beach bonfire excursion, waterfall hike, dance lesson and circus performance. Get ready for the retreat of a lifetime!
