7D Eat Pray Move Form & Focus Yoga Retreat

Spend a week in the magical part of Italy known as Venezia! Venice is a place unlike any other in the world and to see it is to transport yourself back to the days of Casanova, masked balls, and Carnevale. There is so much more to Venice than what meets the eye. Join this 7-day Form + Focus yoga retreat by Eat Pray Move to truly experience Venice like never before.

The retreat allows for a deeper knowledge of Venice; its canals, and neighbouring islands. Late in the year is a unique time to visit this amazing city - you can get a deeper view into the local life, as well as a chance to see the "acqua alta" - the time of year when the waters rise and Venice becomes even more visually spectacular.

This is also a special collaboration with Julian Hyzler from EASEL&LENS to combine a look at creative focus with art projects in sketching and smartphone photography throughout the week. Yoga and meditation classes will be held daily to prepare your body and mind to find a creative way to focus on your excursions through the Italian countryside. All levels are welcome, and participation is voluntary. Projects and classes will be offered as a completely exploratory, unintimidating and personal experience. Classes are open to all levels, beginner to practice, and can range from gentle, restorative, and more vigorous Vinyasa flow and Ashtanga styles. With a small, intimate retreat class size, students will be able to get personalized attention and comfortability to deeply explore their practice.

Guests will not only enjoy the hotel property with its traditional decor, but will also have plenty of time to explore the city, the lagoons, canals, and other nearby islands - all with their own personality. An overview tour of Venice will allow guests to get their bearings in the maze of canals, to see the major sites, and even ride the famous gondolas. Another day will be spent seeing the island of Murano, the island of glass-blowing. Venture out of Venice to a nearby "terme" town of thermal spas to get cozy and relax in the soothing waters or enjoy a spa treatment. One night you will be able to hear voices from Venice's past during a dinner and opera experience, and there's also plenty of time to explore on your own time.

The retreat package includes hotel accommodations, daily yoga and art classes, daily breakfast and dinner, and select lunches plus an aperitivo at a famous Venetian cafe. For your sightseeing trips, a walking tour of Venice's famous landmarks, boat and market tours, an opera performance and a visit to Murano and an attendance to a special Biennale/Halloween event are part of the itinerary. A spa day and a Venetian mask-making demo and class complete your fantastic week! Combine a healthy getaway with travel and creativity in this unique and memorable retreat experience.

  Venice, Italy

If Venice vaguely resembles the shape of a fish, then Castello is its tail. Located in the most eastern part of the city, it is the biggest and most diverse of the 6 districts of Venice and it is here that the Arsenale is found, an ancient naval shipyard, as well as being a fortified centre hidden behind its high towers. It is also the greenest part of Venice because of the Napoleonic Gardens, the city’s largest park which is home, amongst others, to the famous Biennale d’Arte di Venezia art festival. The imposing Basilica of San Pietro di Castello, an ancient episcopal seat before the Basilica of San Marco, is well worth a visit as is the wonderful Chiesa di San Zaccaria which contains a stunning Madonna and child painting by Bellini. If you continue along the Riva degli Schiavoni, you will enjoy a delightful walk reaching Piazza San Marco in 10 minutes. Castello is a quiet neighborhood, where tourists can still experience deserted squares and beautifully intimate park spaces.

The closest commercial airport is Marco Polo Airport (IATA: VCE), on the mainland near Mestre. There is a city bus and a shuttle bus from Marco Polo to Piazzale Roma.
