200Hr Anamaya Yoga Teacher Training with Peter Kaaberbol

Anamaya is a Sanskrit term which means good health; this means the resort is designed to attend to your wellbeing and needs with great healthy food, rest and relaxation, exercise, and lots of learning experiences. Anamaya offers this 3 week, 200-hour program that will fulfill all the requirements you need to be certified by the Yoga Alliance as a professional yoga teacher. Join Peter Kaaberbol in an intensive Yoga Teacher Training where the approach is essentially vinyasa yoga with a strong focus on meditation and pranayama, energetic awareness, and yoga philosophy. You will explore the process of the the mind and meditation through the Yoga Sutras, Eckhart Tolle’s The Power of Now and Buddhist teachings.

Prepare yourself from unexpected experiences revealed during the journey of your teacher training. Past offerings have included Indian dance, Osho meditations and energetic healing sessions which are all powerful. The entire training will be transformational one and are suited to you who are ready to delve deeply into yourselves, and to share this with the other students. There will be conversations and activities included in the curriculum that involve sharing your personal experiences with the other students. Confidentiality is absolutely expected, and it is of the utmost importance that each student is able to hold space for their classmates.

If you follow the guidelines, you will leave this training certified to teach yoga through Yoga Alliance. During the training you will explore the body from a holistic perspective, applying the breath, and yoga therapeutic techniques. You will learn the asanas in their classic form as well as from a developmental perspective; mature a deep understanding of why the body moves as it does. You will experience and articulate that movement or asana can start from the inner or outer body. You will learn that movement initiated from the inner body can be an expression or lack of expression of the organs, bringing awareness and thus health to the deeper systems of the body.

Anyone with the willingness to learn and the love and passion for the practice of yoga is welcome to join this 200-hour yoga teacher training in Anamaya Resort although one year of previous yoga experience is preferred.

Syllabus

HOURS + TOPICS

Deepen your practice and knowledge of each asana and how to teach these traditional asanas to various levels of students in a safe and motivating way. Experience your own practice deepen as you become more aligned with each pose and its benefits, finding the perfect modifications of the pose to suit you.

Sink into various and different meditation techniques as well as powerful breath work and traditional cleansing techniques. These are all aimed to cleanse and purify the mind and body to bring about health and harmony. 

Study the physical anatomy of the human body and the mechanics of the body in order to better understand and appreciate the science of yoga and its effects and benefits. Learn how to practice and teach safely in accordance with the limitations of the body. 

Understanding the history of yoga brings a great deal of depth and passion to your practice and teaching. Learn the deeper elements of yoga from classic texts and how to bring these lessons into daily life and class.  

As you move through the course much time will be devoted to learning exactly how to teach, how to structure a class, how to find your inner voice and how to offer sequencing and modifications to suit a range of class needs. 

Certification

You are required to pass all the assignments and to attend to all of the classes of the whole training. There are also materials and books that you have to study all throughout the YTT. Upon completion of the course students will receive a 200-hour Yoga Alliance approved yoga teachers certificate. This enables students to teach globally.

Yoga Philosophy
TIME OFF It is recommended to spend time in quiet and silence in order to digest the work you’re doing during the course. During the training, you will be required to keep a journal. During your 6th day, you can spend the rest of the day exploring the beaches nearby. Take a dip in the pool read a book or two or explore the best of Montezuma’s waterfalls and gardens. A 40-minute river hike leads to a waterfall with a delicious swimming hole. Cocina Clandestina is a new restaurant that is both artistic and is situated amongst trees with butterfly gardens.

You can fly from San José to the small airstrip at Tambor and then take a taxi. Both Nature Air and Sansa have daily flights, which take around 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can take the ferry from Puntarenas to Paquera, and then drive or take a bus. By car, it will take about one hour to drive from Paquera to Montezuma.

Accommodations

Food

All meals will be catered to you throughout the training and you can expect delicious, healthy, highly nourishing cuisine. The core of the Anamaya diet is lots of raw food, plenty of protein and healthy fats, minimal processing, lots of fruit, veggies especially greens, whole grains, minimal dairy and meat, and no junk food! They also use no white sugar and very little wheat, to suit people with sensitivities. 

Anamaya Resort is dedicated to using organic produce whenever possible, and are constantly seeking out new sources of organic foods in Costa Rica. Some are grown locally and some are brought from other parts of Costa Rica, especially the higher altitudes where foods will grow organically that can’t survive the beach climate. In addition, they're working on importing some organic dry goods and spices that are unavailable locally. 

Anamaya now grow some of their produce on their own farm at Rancho Delicioso, and are working to increase the percentage of their own crops. The food is so popular that due to guest requests Anamaya have released their own cook book for guests to take home the flavours of their experience.

Learn in order to teach. Learn how to teach a Vinyasa yoga class and understand the human body in accordance to yoga and movement. You will understand breathing techniques and how to teach them to students. You will be given time for meditation and how to properly practice it. Gain an in depth knowledge on your Yoga Sutras. This training is all about equipping you to become the an effective yoga teacher. With written and practice assignments, you can test your abilities and gauge your performance. Located just 20 minutes from Tambor Airport, Montezuma is an ideal travel destination. The ride from the airport to the town centre would take around 30 minutes.
