200Hr Sacred Arts Yoga Teacher Training

Balancing the practical, theoretical and experiential aspects of this ancient art and science, The School of Sacred Arts’ 200-hour yoga teacher training will provide you with a well-rounded, comprehensive education, giving you the tools, techniques, and confidence to begin teaching at a professional level.

You will start ‘practice teaching’ right away, which serves to tune you into your natural gifts and assists you in finding your own voice as a teacher from the outset. You will enjoy twice-daily asana classes taught in the Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, and Yin Yoga traditions by passionate and experienced instructors.

Woven throughout the core curriculum, the deeper, spiritual dimensions of yoga are emphasized. Love, freedom, and self-realization are at the heart of this unique experience, guiding and encouraging you to step into your own light, power and truth.

The Yoga Teacher Training includes our SOSA Training Manual, all instruction, classes, events and supplies, and a complimentary visit to KUSH Ayurvedic Spa.

Set amidst forested volcanic mountains and iconic rice paddies, our event takes place at The Yoga Barn in Ubud, Bali’s artistic, cultural and spiritual hub, the perfect location for an immersive yoga experience.

  • Spa
  • WiFi Internet

You'll explore the History of Yoga from its early roots in Shamanism; the various types of yoga as it evolved through the years, and both Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras (The 8-limbed Path, ‘Classical Yoga’) and its natural compliment, the Tantric tradition.

You'll examine and consider each of the major dimensions of the broader yogic traditions, all of the approaches to—and styles of—asana, from early Hatha to the modern day, as well as complementary indigenous wisdom systems from Native American to Buddhist practices and beyond.

Learn how to use Bandhas and Mudras to add stability, greater energetic flow and control, and depth to your practice. Also, explore various cleansing rituals (‘Kriyas’) and breathing techniques to clear the physical, mental and emotional body.

You will learn various meditation tools to develop your concentration and awareness (such as Chakra, Vipassana, and Metta meditations) the natural end result of an authentic, committed approach to practice. Learn how to sit comfortably in various meditation postures and learn how to share these essential skills and techniques with your students.

The foundations of physical and energetic anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology will be explored, with an emphasis on how these subjects directly relate to the practice of asana. The importance of proper alignment, modifications, and sequencing will be studied, in order to minimize risk, avoid injury, and enjoy greater efficiency and the higher dimensions of practice.

Strange bedfellows, art and commerce. You’ll learn how to navigate both the interpersonal dynamics involved in teaching yoga as well as the ‘yoga business’ all while staying in alignment with your own integrity and the ‘Higher Good’. We’ll also share with you myriad ways to begin establishing and marketing yourself as a yoga instructor.

Myriad special subjects, workshops, and events will be included amongst the ‘regular’ curriculum: Ayurveda, Nutrition, Pre-Natal, Yoga Activism, The Principals of Chinese Medicine, The Energetics of Yoga (The Dynamics of Touch and Adjusting), Swara Cycles, Teaching Methodology, and a few ‘surprise’ appearances by guest teachers.

Upon meeting the requirements of the course, you will receive a 200Hr Yoga Alliance approved yoga teacher certification, allowing you to teach globally with an internationally approved level of education (and the confidence to go with it!)

Bali is most known for its forested volcanic mountains, iconic rice paddies, beaches and coral reefs. The weather is fairly even all year round making it a perfect holiday destination.

Along the southern coastline, you can find popular beaches and surf spots such as Kuta, Seminyak and Uluwatu. As you venture in land, you’ll discover Ubud, which is the gem for yoga and spiritual practice. Born to stardom by the bestselling book Eat, Pray Love, Ubud is home to many yoga centers, healthy restaurants, cafes and streets of local shops. The soft temple bells encapsulate Ubud’s magic with historic temples built on almost every street corner. Spend a few days in Ubud to appreciate it properly. It's one of those places where days can become weeks and weeks become months. If you’re here, don’t forget to visit the infamous Monkey Forest.

There are international flights daily to Depensar International airport from all over the world. And the best way to get around in Bali is by car service which you can organise ahead of time or right at the airport. There are plenty of drivers awaiting guests to the country who are happy to take you directly to your desired location with a smile.
